InstantDB alternatives: 4 apps ranked by verified data

Facts checked Oct 25, 2026AppBreakup editorialHow we rank

Common reasons people leave InstantDB: hosted cloud closed to new users and shutting down, and future development depends on the community. We ranked 4 alternatives by how directly each one replaces InstantDB, then by reviews, real visits and how recently each app's facts were checked against its own website. Convex currently ranks first.

InstantDB has been acquired. The Instant team joined OpenAI in 2026; Instant Cloud is closed to new signups and shuts down on 31 August 2027. The code stays open source.
