What AppBreakup is, and isn't

AppBreakup is an independent directory that helps people compare software. Descriptions, pros and cons, verdicts, comparisons and rankings are our editorial opinion, researched as explained in how we research. Facts link to the page they came from, but software changes quickly: check the vendor's own site before you buy or rely on anything. Nothing here is professional, legal or financial advice.

We take no payment, sponsorship or affiliate fees from the apps we list, and nobody can pay to change a ranking.

Trademarks and listings

Product names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. We use them only to identify products, which is why they appear next to facts and reviews about those products. AppBreakup is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any company listed, unless a page clearly says so.

If you own a product and want a fact corrected, a logo replaced or a listing removed, use the corrections form (choose “Removal” for removals) or email [email protected]. We aim to reply within three working days.

Reviews and other content you post

  • You must be at least 16 to write a review or submit an app.
  • Write about your own experience. Don't post fake reviews, reviews of your own product or a competitor's, or reviews you were paid or rewarded for without ticking the incentive box.
  • No unlawful, defamatory, hateful or harassing content, no personal data about other people, and nothing you don't have the right to share.
  • Every review is read by a person before it appears. We may reject or remove content that breaks these rules, and we record each decision and its reason in the public moderation log. We never reject a review for being negative.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, format, translate and distribute it on AppBreakup and in our open data feed, and to let others reuse it under that feed's licence. You can ask us to remove your review at any time.

Submitting an app

By submitting an app you confirm you're allowed to list it and that what you send is accurate. We may edit, rewrite or decline submissions, and we write our own description rather than copying yours.

Maker accounts and claims

Maker accounts are free and for people who make or run apps. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens in your account. Only claim an app you're allowed to act for. A claim gives you that app's statistics; it doesn't let you edit the listing, hide reviews or change where it ranks, and we may remove a claim if we find it isn't genuine. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break, overload or get around the security of the site; don't submit forms automatically; and don't manipulate votes, clicks or reviews. To reuse our data, use the open data API rather than scraping pages.

Reusing our content

Text we write (descriptions, pros and cons, verdicts and alternative notes) is available under CC BY 4.0 through our API: credit AppBreakup with a link to the app page. That licence doesn't cover product names, logos or other third-party material, which belong to their owners.

Reporting illegal content and copyright notices

To report content you believe is illegal or infringes your rights, email with: the page address, what you believe is wrong and why, your name and email, and a statement that you believe the report is accurate and made in good faith. Copyright owners should also identify the work and confirm they're authorised to act for its owner, under penalty of perjury.

We act quickly on valid notices, tell the person who posted the content where we can, and explain our decision. If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, reply to our email to ask us to look again. We remove repeat infringers.

Grievance Officer

Under India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021, complaints about content on AppBreakup can also go to:

Grievance Officer: Sameer, Tedora Technologies, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Email: [email protected].

We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.

No warranty

AppBreakup is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee that information is complete, current or error-free, or that the site will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on the site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts at Bengaluru, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live. See also our privacy policy.
