About Apollo

Apollo is a game streaming host for Windows forked from Sunshine and used with Moonlight clients (and its companion fork, Artemis, on Android). Its main change is built-in virtual display handling: when a device connects, Apollo creates a display matching that client's exact resolution and refresh rate, so a phone, tablet or handheld gets a picture that fits its screen without manual configuration or HDR and scaling tricks on the host. It keeps Sunshine's hardware encoding and controller support and adds features such as per-client permissions and clipboard sync. Like Sunshine it is free and GPL-licensed with no subscription, since you stream from your own PC. It is Windows-only, maintained by a smaller team than Sunshine, and some features work best with Artemis rather than stock Moonlight.

Best for: Windows gamers streaming to phones, tablets or handhelds with unusual screen sizes.
