About Armoury Crate

Armoury Crate is the control centre ASUS ships for its ROG, TUF and ASUS-branded hardware. It handles Aura Sync RGB lighting across ASUS motherboards, graphics cards, peripherals and partner devices, and adds per-device settings such as fan tuning on motherboards and coolers, mouse calibration, keyboard macros, OLED panels and firmware updates. On laptops it also manages performance modes and scenario profiles that switch settings per app or game. It doubles as a hub for driver downloads, product registration, a game library and deals. Armoury Crate is free for owners of ASUS hardware and runs on Windows only. Its breadth is also its main complaint: the full installer is around 3 GB, it runs several background services, and much of it is useless if your other devices come from different brands. Lighter replacements such as OpenRGB or G-Helper exist for that reason.

Best for: Owners of mostly ASUS or ROG hardware who want official control and firmware updates.
