About Gather
Gather is a virtual office for remote and hybrid teams. Each team gets a custom 2D map with desks, meeting rooms and common areas, and everyone appears as an avatar. Walking up to someone starts a video conversation automatically, nearby chatter can be overheard, and you can see at a glance who is free, focused or in a meeting, which aims to recreate the quick, unscheduled conversations of an office. Meetings can still be scheduled with links, recorded and held in private rooms, and integrations include calendars, GitHub and Spotify. Gather started in 2020 as a playful space for events and parties and has since narrowed its focus to everyday work. Pricing is per member per month on an Essential plan, with a custom plan for large teams that adds SSO and hybrid options, and there's a 30-day free trial. It suits fully remote teams that want a persistent place to bump into each other, rather than a meetings-only tool.
Best for: Fully remote teams that want an always-on virtual office.
