About Netmaker
Netmaker builds and manages WireGuard networks for you. A central server hands out configurations and keys, and devices join meshes, site-to-site links or remote access gateways, using kernel WireGuard where available for high throughput. It targets infrastructure and IT teams more than home users: features include egress and ingress gateways, relays for hard-to-reach nodes, access control lists, OAuth login and an embedded mode for building networking into other products. The Community edition is open source under Apache 2.0 and free to self-host with unlimited usage; paid Professional and Enterprise tiers add advanced management, security features and support, billed by active connections, and can be cloud-hosted or on-premises. Setup is heavier than Tailscale and documentation assumes networking knowledge. Clients run on Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and in Docker. It suits teams that want a self-hosted, WireGuard-based alternative to traditional site-to-site VPNs.
Best for: Infrastructure teams automating WireGuard site-to-site and remote access networks.
