About Snyk
Snyk is a hosted security platform aimed at developers. It started with finding known vulnerabilities in open-source dependencies and now also scans your own code (Snyk Code, its SAST product), container images and infrastructure-as-code files. It plugs into IDEs, the command line, source code hosts and CI pipelines, flags issues where developers already work, and suggests or automatically generates fixes. A free plan for individuals and small teams includes all four scanners with monthly test limits; a Team plan raises those limits and adds integrations like Jira, and larger organisations buy an enterprise subscription that uses a credit-based model. Open-source maintainers can apply for free access. Its strength is breadth across the software supply chain from one dashboard; teams that only need code scanning, or want to run everything on their own servers, often find lighter or self-hosted tools a better fit.
Best for: Development teams that want dependency, code and container scanning in one place.
