About TextExpander

TextExpander lets you type a short abbreviation, or search a snippet library, and insert longer text such as email templates, support replies, signatures or boilerplate. It's built around a cloud account, so the same snippets follow you across Mac, Windows, the Chrome extension, iPhone and iPad, and teams can share snippet groups so everyone uses the same wording. Snippets can include fill-in fields, dates and date maths, nested snippets and, on higher plans, conditional sections, JavaScript and AppleScript or shell scripts on macOS. The Chrome extension adds AI recommendations that suggest snippets based on what you're working on. There is a limited free plan, and paid Pro, Business and Enterprise tiers billed per user, with team features and admin controls reserved for the business plans. It suits support, sales and recruiting teams that want consistent messaging, and individuals who want a GUI and syncing without managing files. Your snippets are stored in TextExpander's cloud rather than only on your device.

Best for: Teams that want one shared, synced snippet library across Mac, Windows and Chrome.
