About Webstudio
Webstudio is an open-source visual builder with Webflow-style control over real CSS: every CSS property is available through the interface, along with design tokens, components and a Radix-based component library. It connects to headless CMSs such as Notion, WordPress, Strapi or Airtable for content rather than shipping its own database, and sites can be published to Webstudio's cloud or exported as a static site or JavaScript app and hosted wherever you like. Self-hosting the builder itself is supported for development but not yet recommended for production. The project is AGPL-licensed, with a paid cloud offering for hosting and team features. It has a learning curve similar to Webflow and assumes you understand layout concepts like flexbox and grid. The ecosystem of templates and integrations is still growing, and relying on an external CMS adds setup. It runs in the browser.
Best for: Designers who want Webflow-level control without being tied to one host.
