About BinEd
BinEd is a binary and hex editor from the ExBin project, written in Java. The desktop editor shows data as hex codes next to a text view, and can switch the code view to binary, octal or decimal. It handles Unicode and other character sets, offers insert and overwrite modes, search with highlighted matches for text or byte sequences, and undo and redo, and it is designed to cope with very large files. What sets it apart is reach: the same editing component is packaged as plugins for IntelliJ, NetBeans, Eclipse and other IDEs, as an extension for Ghidra and Autopsy, and as an Android app, so you can stay inside the tool you already use. There is even a browser demo. It is free under the Apache 2.0 licence and runs anywhere Java 8 or newer is installed. Compared with ImHex or 010 Editor it is a plain editor, without pattern languages or disassemblers, and the developers note it can run out of memory with many large edits.
Best for: Developers who want a free hex editor that also lives inside their IDE or Ghidra.
