About bolt.diy

bolt.diy is the official open-source fork of Bolt.new, maintained by StackBlitz Labs and a community of contributors. It gives you the same prompt-to-app idea, where an AI writes, runs and edits a full-stack web app in the browser, but you run it yourself and choose the model. It supports a long list of providers, from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google to OpenRouter, Mistral and local models via Ollama or LM Studio, and new providers can be added in code. You can run it with Node.js or Docker, then deploy projects or push them to GitHub. It is free under the MIT licence; your only costs are the API usage and wherever you host it. It suits developers who like Bolt's workflow but want to pick cheaper or private models, or tinker with the tool itself. Expect a rougher experience than the hosted product.

Best for: Developers who want Bolt's workflow on their own machine with their own choice of models.
