About Chegg
Chegg is a US study-help company best known for Chegg Study, a subscription that gives students step-by-step solutions to textbook problems and lets them post their own questions for expert answers. Its library covers maths, science, engineering, business and other college subjects, and it has added AI-generated explanations and a maths solver. The same account also covers writing tools such as a plagiarism checker, citation generator, grammar checker and paid expert proofreading. Chegg also owns related brands including Mathway, EasyBib, Citation Machine and Busuu. It is mainly aimed at high school and college students in the US, and works in a browser and through iOS and Android apps. There is no meaningful free tier; access is a monthly subscription, with optional add-ons. Many schools treat copying Chegg answers as cheating, and Chegg publishes an honour code and tools for educators to report misuse.
Best for: College students who want worked solutions to textbook problems and quick expert answers.
