About Cmder
Cmder is a ready-made console setup for Windows, created out of frustration with the old Windows console. It packages the ConEmu terminal with Clink, which adds bash-style line editing, history and completion to Command Prompt, plus a Monokai colour scheme and a custom prompt, and the full download also includes Git for Windows with its Unix tools. Everything is portable: you can carry it on a USB stick or in a synced folder, and your settings and aliases travel with it. It supports tabs, split panes, Quake-style drop-down, PowerShell and bash tasks, and the many options ConEmu exposes. Cmder is free and MIT licensed. Since Microsoft released Windows Terminal, many users have moved on, and ConEmu itself sees little development, but Cmder remains useful when you need a portable, no-install setup on locked-down or shared Windows machines.
Best for: Windows users who need a portable, no-install terminal setup with Unix tools.
