About Eleventy

Eleventy, often written 11ty, is an open-source static site generator in JavaScript, released under the MIT licence. It turns a folder of templates and data into HTML with almost no configuration and no client-side JavaScript added by default. You can mix template languages, including Markdown, Nunjucks, Liquid, WebC, JavaScript and others, and its data cascade, collections and pagination make it easy to build blogs, documentation and sites generated from APIs. It is loved by front-end developers who care about lean HTML and long-term stability, and it is fast enough for large sites. Eleventy is now developed under the Font Awesome umbrella, with a Build Awesome brand and paid Pro offering emerging around it. The trade-offs are that it gives you very little out of the box, so you assemble your own asset pipeline, image handling and structure, and it has no editing interface for non-developers. It runs anywhere Node.js does.

Best for: Front-end developers who want lean HTML output and minimal framework overhead.
