About iMazing

iMazing, made by Swiss company DigiDNA, is a long-running desktop manager for iPhone, iPad and iPod that does the jobs Apple's Finder, Music and Apple Devices apps handle poorly. It can schedule automatic wireless backups with snapshots, store them on external drives or a NAS, and browse inside a backup to pull out messages, WhatsApp chats, call history, voice memos, contacts, notes and Safari data as files. It also moves music and photos in both directions without syncing, installs and archives apps, and includes a spyware analyser. A business line adds configuration profile tools, a command-line interface and supervision for managing fleets. The app is paid, sold as personal licences for a number of devices, with a trial mode that lets you try most features; some tools such as the Profile Editor are free. It runs on macOS and Windows.

Best for: iPhone owners who want scheduled local backups and easy export of messages and data.
