About jExifToolGUI

jExifToolGUI puts a point-and-click window on top of ExifTool, Phil Harvey's command-line program for reading and writing file metadata. Instead of memorising ExifTool commands, you open a folder of photos, browse their EXIF, XMP, IPTC and GPS tags, and edit them in forms. It can copy metadata from a reference image onto many photos at once, which is handy for adding missing GPS data to shots taken in the same place, and it has geotagging and batch renaming based on dates and other tags. It is a Java/Swing app that runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and needs ExifTool installed; the Windows and macOS downloads bundle Java. The project is free and GPLv3-licensed, maintained by one developer, and translated by volunteers. Releases have been infrequent, with the latest in the 2.0 series. It suits photographers who want ExifTool's depth without a terminal, though the interface looks dated next to modern photo managers.

Best for: Photographers who want ExifTool's metadata editing through a desktop window instead of commands.
