About Jupyter Book
Jupyter Book builds websites and documents from Jupyter notebooks and MyST Markdown, aimed at researchers, educators and data scientists. You write chapters as notebooks or Markdown files, and it executes the code at build time so outputs, charts and tables are always current, then adds cross-references, citations, equations and a navigable table of contents. Published sites can include live widgets and links to run the material in JupyterHub, Binder or the browser, which makes it popular for open textbooks and course materials. Version 2 is built on the MyST Document Engine, with faster builds; the project notes it still has known limitations compared with version 1. It is installed with pip and run from the command line, and the result can be hosted on any static host such as GitHub Pages. Jupyter Book is free and open source under the BSD licence, developed by the Jupyter community.
Best for: Educators and researchers publishing notebook-based books and course sites.
