About LibreTube
LibreTube is a free, open-source YouTube client for Android that plays videos without ads, Google services or a Google account. It can fetch videos through Piped, an alternative YouTube front-end, so Google sees less of what you watch, and you can choose a different Piped instance or run your own. It covers subscriptions and subscription groups, playlists, bookmarks, watch history, background playback and downloads, and it integrates SponsorBlock to skip sponsored segments, Return YouTube Dislike for dislike counts and DeArrow for less clickbaity titles. You can import your subscriptions from a Google Takeout export, and optionally sync them across devices with a Piped account. The interface follows Material You design. It is licensed under GPL-3.0 and installed from GitHub or F-Droid rather than Google Play. Unlike NewPipe it only supports YouTube, and playback can break for a while when YouTube changes something.
Best for: Android users who want an ad-free YouTube app with a modern look and no Google account.
