About Live365
Live365 is a hosted platform for starting and running an internet radio station, plus a free listening directory with thousands of human-curated music and talk stations. Broadcasters upload music or go live, schedule programming in a web dashboard, and Live365 handles streaming. Its main draw for small stations is licensing: broadcast packages include music licensing coverage in the United States, Canada and Mexico, which is otherwise a complicated job to arrange yourself. Stations are heard on Live365's website and its apps for iOS, Android and Alexa, and can also be distributed to TuneIn and iHeartRadio. A monetisation programme shares ad revenue to offset streaming costs. Broadcasting requires a paid monthly package, while listening is free. It suits hobbyists and small stations in North America who want licensing and distribution handled for them, but stations outside those three countries get less value from the bundled licensing.
Best for: North American hobby and small stations that want music licensing handled for them.
