About LookAway
LookAway is a native macOS break reminder from the indie studio Mystical Bits. It schedules short and long breaks to cut eye strain, and adds gentle blink and posture nudges between them. Its main selling point is timing: it gives a heads-up and a countdown near the cursor before a break, offers snooze options, and automatically holds off during meetings, calls, screen recordings, video playback, fullscreen games and apps you mark for deep focus. Breaks can be customised with sounds, images and messages, planned at fixed times such as lunch, and hooked into AppleScript or Shortcuts automations. A companion iPhone app, LookAway Mirror, carries a Mac break over to your phone so you don't just switch screens. It is a paid app sold as a one-time licence with a year of updates and optional discounted renewals, and is also available through the Mac App Store and Setapp. A Windows version is listed as coming soon.
