About NaturalReader
NaturalReader is a long-running text-to-speech product from NaturalSoft. It reads documents, web pages and e-books aloud with AI voices, and is split into personal, commercial (voice-over) and education plans. The web app and the iOS and Android apps sync your documents, and the Chrome extension reads any page from the toolbar. Recent versions add AI features such as chatting with a document, translation and practice quizzes. Unusually, NaturalReader still sells downloadable desktop software for Windows and Mac with a one-time payment for a perpetual licence, alongside the subscription web plans. The free tier works with free voices, while paid plans add natural voices, OCR and MP3 export. It is aimed at students, people with reading difficulties and creators who need simple voice-overs; a separate commercial licence is required for publishing the audio.
Best for: Readers who want a TTS app on every device, or a one-time desktop licence instead of a subscription.
