About Speechify

Speechify is one of the best-known text-to-speech readers. You can paste text, open PDFs and documents, connect cloud drives, or use the browser extension to have any web page read aloud, and the mobile apps can scan printed pages with the camera and read them back. It is widely used by students, people with dyslexia or ADHD, and anyone who prefers listening to reading. The free plan is limited to a small set of robotic-sounding voices and lower speeds; the Premium subscription unlocks a large library of natural voices, many languages, faster playback, scanning and AI summaries. The company also sells separate tools for voice-overs, dubbing and a speech API. Speechify runs on iPhone, iPad, Android, the web, Mac and Windows, and as a Chrome or Edge extension. It is subscription software, and the yearly plan is much cheaper than paying monthly.

Best for: Students and busy readers who want natural voices across phone, browser and computer.
