About Rive

Rive is a design tool for building interactive animations and motion graphics that ship inside real products. You draw vector artwork, animate it on a timeline with bones and meshes, and then wire up a state machine so the animation reacts to input such as hovers, taps, scroll position or data. The result exports as a small file that open-source Rive runtimes play natively on the web, iOS, Android, Flutter, React, Unity and other platforms, which makes it popular for app onboarding, game UI, icons, mascots and in-car or device interfaces. Compared with exporting videos or Lottie files, Rive animations are interactive and usually smaller. The learning curve is real, especially around state machines and scripting, and it is not a general-purpose design tool. A free plan lets you build and ship with limits; paid Cadet and Voyager plans are billed per seat, with Enterprise above. Rive runs in the browser and as a desktop app.

Best for: Product and game teams that want interactive animations running natively in their apps.
