About SoundSource
SoundSource, from long-time Mac audio developer Rogue Amoeba, puts detailed sound control in the macOS menu bar. It lets you set the volume of each app relative to others, send individual apps to different outputs (music to speakers, calls to headphones), and apply effects per app or system-wide, using a built-in 10-band equaliser, presets such as Headphone EQ and Magic Boost, or third-party Audio Unit plugins. It also streams individual apps to AirPlay 2 devices like HomePods, Apple TVs and Sonos speakers, groups outputs to play on several devices at once, and makes the Mac's volume keys work with HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. It is aimed at Mac users who juggle several audio devices, and podcasters or musicians who want effects everywhere. It is paid software with a free trial that applies limitations until purchased, and the current version supports macOS 15 and later.
Best for: Mac users juggling several speakers, headphones and AirPlay devices.
