About Udio
Udio turns a short text prompt, or lyrics you write, into complete songs with vocals and instruments. You can extend a track, remix it, inpaint a section, trim it, or use Styles to generate something in the vibe of a clip you upload. It launched in 2024 and became one of the two best-known AI song generators alongside Suno. In October 2025 Udio settled with Universal Music Group and later announced a deal with Warner Music Group; as part of the move to a licensed platform, downloads were switched off, so for now songs live inside Udio rather than in your own files. It runs in the browser and as an iPhone app; there is no official Android app. A free account gets a small daily and monthly credit allowance, and the Standard and Pro subscriptions raise those limits, with extra credits sold separately. It suits hobbyists and songwriters who want to sketch ideas quickly, less so anyone who needs to publish or export tracks today.
Best for: Hobbyists and songwriters sketching full AI songs with vocals inside the app.
