About Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's subscription for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. It comes in several tiers: Essential gives a smaller rotating library, online console multiplayer and some cloud playtime; Premium adds a bigger library including Xbox-published games within a year of launch; Ultimate adds new games on release day, EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics, Fortnite Crew and the most cloud streaming; and PC Game Pass covers Windows only. Games are downloaded to a console, PC or handheld, or streamed through Xbox Cloud Gaming to phones, tablets, TVs and VR headsets. Because Microsoft owns studios such as Bethesda and Activision Blizzard, many of its own releases arrive on the service. Games leave the library over time, and access ends when you stop paying. Prices differ by tier and country and have risen several times. It suits people who play many different games and would rather rent a library than buy each title.
Best for: Xbox and PC players who try lots of games and want new Microsoft releases at launch.
