About Humble Bundle

Humble Bundle began in 2010 with a single pay-what-you-want bundle of indie games and is now a digital storefront owned by IGN Entertainment, part of Ziff Davis. It has three main parts. Bundles are limited-time collections of games, ebooks, comics or software where you choose the price, unlock more tiers by paying more, and decide how much goes to the creators, to charity and to Humble. The Humble Store sells individual games at regular and sale prices. Humble Choice is a monthly PC games membership: each month's picks are yours to keep, and members also get store discounts and a Windows app with a vault of DRM-free indie games. Most purchases are delivered as keys for Steam, GOG, Ubisoft Connect or another launcher, while many books and some games are DRM-free downloads. It is a place to buy, not a launcher in its own right, so you still play through Steam or similar.

Best for: PC gamers and readers hunting for cheap bundles who like part of their spending to go to charity.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Pay-what-you-want bundles are often far cheaper than buying items singly
  • Part of every purchase can go to a charity you choose
  • Humble Choice games are kept forever, not rented

Why people leave

  • Most games arrive as Steam or other keys, so you still need another launcher
  • Bundle keys can expire if not redeemed in time
  • Bundles are time-limited and their contents vary in quality
