About Advanced Renamer
Advanced Renamer is a bulk renaming utility for Windows and macOS from Danish developer Kim Jensen, around since 2001. You load files or folders, stack renaming methods (thirteen in total, such as replace, add, renumber, change case, trim, swap or a JavaScript script) and watch a live preview before anything changes. It reads metadata from photos, music, video and documents, so names can include the date a picture was taken, a camera model, an ID3 artist, a video's resolution or even the city where a photo was shot, worked out from GPS coordinates. Batches can also copy or move files into new folders and set timestamps, and a whole batch can be undone if the result is wrong. A command-line batch runner covers automation. It is free for personal use; businesses can try it but need to buy a licence, and paid licences are one-time purchases with no subscription. It does not look up films or TV shows in online databases the way dedicated media renamers do.
