About Bulk Rename Utility
Bulk Rename Utility is a Windows program for renaming many files and folders at once, made by TGRMN Software since 2002. Its single window is famously crowded: every option, from text replacement, case changes, numbering and date stamps to regular expressions and JavaScript, sits in its own numbered panel, and a preview shows the new names before you commit. It can pull information from photo Exif data, MP3 ID3 tags and Windows file properties, change file timestamps and attributes, recurse into subfolders and rename from a CSV list. It's written in C++ and stays light enough to leave open, handling folders with well over a hundred thousand entries. An optional Explorer menu item lets you start a rename straight from a folder, and a portable build needs no install. It is free for personal use at home; companies and commercial users need a licence, and a home or academic licence unlocks all features. It's Windows only and has no online media database lookups.
