About BandLab
BandLab is a free music creation platform from Singapore-based BandLab Technologies that combines a multitrack studio with a social network for musicians. The Studio runs in a web browser and in the iOS and Android apps, with virtual instruments, a beat maker, guitar amp effects, vocal presets, automatic mastering, and a library of royalty-free loops and samples. Projects are saved in the cloud, so you can start a song on your phone and keep working on a laptop, and collaborators can join a project remotely. Around the studio sit social features: profiles, a feed, community challenges, and tools to release music and get paid. It is popular with young creators and as a first step into music making. Core creation tools are free, with an optional paid membership for extra perks. The trade-offs are that it is far less capable than desktop DAWs for serious mixing, plugin support is limited, and it depends on an internet connection and a BandLab account.
Best for: Beginners and young creators who want to make and share music for free on any device.
