About BIAS FX 2
BIAS FX 2 is guitar and bass amp-and-effects software from Positive Grid that runs as a standalone app or as a plugin inside a DAW on Mac and Windows. It models over a hundred amps plus cabinets, microphones, pedals and studio rack effects, and lets you drag them into a signal chain, run dual amps in stereo, and load impulse responses. Guitar Match makes one guitar sound like another model, and the ToneCloud community holds tens of thousands of shared presets. Practice features include a looper, automatic recording of recent playing, and backing tracks with chord display. It came in Standard, Professional and Elite editions. Positive Grid has stopped selling BIAS FX 2 and now points customers to its successor, BIAS X; existing owners can still download it from their account, but the last update dates from late 2023. Anyone choosing new amp-sim software should look at actively developed options instead.
Best for: Existing owners who already have a BIAS FX 2 licence and presets.
