About Busuu

Busuu, owned by Chegg, offers structured courses in a set of major languages, organised by CEFR level so you can see where you stand. Lessons are short and mix vocabulary, grammar, dialogues and review, and its distinguishing feature is the community: you submit written or spoken exercises and native speakers correct them, while you help learners of your own language. Premium unlocks the full course, offline lessons, personalised review, grammar tools and certificates; the free tier gives limited access. There are also versions for businesses and educators. Compared with Duolingo it is more structured and less gamified, and compared with Babbel the community feedback is the main extra. Corrections vary in quality since they come from volunteers. It runs on iOS, Android and the web.
