About Cambly

Cambly focuses on English. Learners join video lessons with tutors who are native English speakers, either on demand whenever a tutor is free or by booking a favourite tutor in advance, and it runs around the clock. Plans are monthly subscriptions based on minutes per week, with private one-to-one lessons or cheaper small-group classes, plus courses for exam preparation, business English and Cambly Kids for children. Lessons are recorded so you can review them. The strength is convenience: there is always someone to talk to. The downside is that many tutors are conversation partners rather than trained teachers, so structured grammar teaching depends on choosing the right tutor or course, and it is more expensive per hour than budget tutors on italki. It runs on the web, iOS and Android. Cambly suits English learners who want frequent, flexible speaking practice.

Best for: English learners who want to talk to a native speaker whenever they have time.
