About CodeSandbox
CodeSandbox started as a browser playground for front-end projects and grew into a cloud development platform. Each sandbox runs in an isolated microVM that can be cloned, snapshotted and resumed in seconds, so you can open a template or a GitHub repository and get a running dev environment with a preview, either in the web editor or from VS Code via its extension. Sandboxes can be shared and forked, which makes it popular for bug reproductions, prototypes, teaching and documentation examples. Its open-source Sandpack toolkit lets sites embed live code editors. The company joined Together AI, and its current focus is the CodeSandbox SDK, which lets developers programmatically spin up sandboxes to run untrusted or AI-generated code, run agents in parallel, or execute tests. A free plan is available for individuals, with paid plans for more compute and private work. It runs in the browser.
