About Deluge

Deluge is a free, GPL-licensed BitTorrent client that splits the work in two: a background daemon handles all the downloading, and separate interfaces connect to it. You can use the GTK desktop app, the web UI or a console client, and they can connect from another machine, which makes Deluge a natural fit for a headless home server or seedbox that you manage from a laptop. Much of its functionality lives in plugins, including scheduling, automatic adding from watch folders, blocklists, notifications and RSS through third-party plugins, so the base install stays lean and you add what you need. It is built on libtorrent and supports encryption, DHT, peer exchange, local peer discovery, proxies and per-torrent speed limits. Deluge runs on Linux, Windows, BSD and through Docker; macOS support is weaker, as current 2.x builds for Mac are not offered as standard packages. There is no paid tier or advertising.

Best for: Home-server and seedbox users who want to run torrents headless and control them remotely.
