About qBittorrent

qBittorrent is a desktop BitTorrent client built by volunteers as an ad-free, open-source answer to µTorrent. The main window will feel familiar to anyone who used µTorrent: a torrent list, per-file priorities, speed limits and a bandwidth scheduler. Beyond the basics it includes a search tab that queries many torrent sites at once through plugins, RSS feeds with regex download rules, sequential downloading for previewing media, a torrent creator and IP filtering. A web interface mirrors the desktop app closely, which makes it a common pick for home servers and NAS boxes, and official Docker images are published. It is built on Qt and libtorrent-rasterbar and runs on Windows, Linux, macOS and FreeBSD, with packages in most Linux distributions plus a Flatpak and an AppImage. It is completely free with no paid edition; the project relies on donations. The macOS build gets less attention than the others, since the team says it has few active macOS contributors.

Best for: People who want a full-featured, ad-free torrent client with built-in search and remote web access.
