About Elevate
Elevate is a brain-training app from Elevate Labs, now presented under The Mind Company brand, for iPhone and Android, and a former Apple App of the Year. It is not a vocabulary app on its own: its 40+ short games train reading, writing, speaking, memory and math, and several of them work on word choice, definitions, spelling and precise usage. The free version gives you one three-game workout a day and a game of the week, picked to match your goals. The full version, $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial or $9.99 a month with no trial, unlocks every game at any time, memory training, daily puzzles such as crosswords, advanced performance tracking, no ads, and longer custom workouts, including a Vocabulary workout that strings word games together. Elevate shows how you compare with other users in each skill. It suits people who want vocabulary practice as part of a broader daily mental workout, and who prefer timed games to flashcards or word lists. The trade-off: there's no way to choose specific words, save words you meet elsewhere, or follow a word list, so it's weaker than dedicated apps at steadily growing the number of words you know, and the vocabulary workout is a paid feature.
Best for: People who want vocabulary games as part of a wider daily brain workout.
