About Fender Studio Pro
Fender Studio Pro is the new name for Studio One, the DAW created by PreSonus, which Fender bought in 2021. The rename took effect in January 2026 with version 8, so most tutorials and forum posts still call it Studio One. It is known for a quick, single-window workflow with lots of drag and drop: you can drag effects onto tracks, audio onto instruments and whole mixes into the integrated Project page for mastering, which few DAWs include. It covers recording, MIDI and score editing, a clip launcher, chord tracks and Dolby Atmos mixing, and it ties in with PreSonus and Fender hardware such as audio interfaces. Pricing is a mix of models: a perpetual licence, an upgrade path for existing Studio One owners and monthly or annual subscriptions with extra content. It runs on Windows and macOS. Expect the branding change to cause some confusion with Fender's separate mobile apps.
Best for: Songwriters and engineers who want a fast drag-and-drop DAW with built-in mastering.
