About Homey
Homey is a smart home platform that brings devices from many brands into one app, with simple Flow rules for automations, Advanced Flow for more complex ones, energy tracking, insights and dashboards. It comes in several forms. Homey Cloud starts free and needs no hub, using cloud connections to supported devices. Homey Pro and the cheaper Homey Pro mini are local hubs with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (plus other radios on Pro) that run automations at home. Homey Self-Hosted Server runs the same platform in Docker on your own hardware, such as a Raspberry Pi, a NAS or a Proxmox box, for a monthly subscription or a one-off lifetime licence. Apps from Athom and the community add support for more brands. It suits households that want a polished, approachable smart home app and are fine with a commercial, closed-source product; tinkerers who want everything free and open source tend to choose Home Assistant or openHAB.
