About HydraPaper
HydraPaper is a small GTK app for Linux that manages a wallpaper collection and, most usefully, lets you set a separate image on each monitor, something GNOME long lacked on its own. You point it at folders of images, toggle those folders on or off, mark favourites, and choose how each picture fits the screen: zoomed, centred or fitted, with a black or blurred fill behind it. A random mode picks fresh wallpapers on demand, including from the app launcher, and most actions are also available from the command line for scripts. It's written in Python, released under the GPLv3, and installs from Flathub, the AUR, Fedora and Debian. It is free with no paid tier. It focuses on static images, so it won't play video or animated wallpapers, and it doesn't fetch images from online sources on a schedule the way some wallpaper changers do.
Best for: GNOME users with two or more monitors who want a different wallpaper on each.
