About InShot

InShot is a phone-first editor for trimming, stitching and dressing up short videos and photos, mostly for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. You work on a simple timeline with cuts, speed changes, transitions, stickers, text, picture-in-picture, chroma key and a built-in music and sound-effect library. Newer AI tools add automatic captions in several languages, voice enhancement, background cutout and stabilisation. It also makes photo collages, so many people use it as a single app for everyday social content. The free version covers most editing but adds a watermark and ads; a paid Pro upgrade removes them and unlocks the paid effects and materials. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Android phones, with no desktop version, so longer or multi-camera projects are better suited to a desktop editor. The same developer also makes YouCut and several AI photo apps.

Best for: Creators editing short social videos and collages on a phone with minimal learning.
