About LosslessCut

LosslessCut is a small open-source app for fast, lossless operations on video and audio files. Instead of re-encoding, it uses FFmpeg to cut, trim, split and merge files at keyframes, so a long recording can be trimmed in seconds with no quality loss. It also extracts or replaces tracks, removes unwanted audio streams, changes container formats, adds chapters, captures frames as images and edits metadata, which makes it handy for screen recordings, gameplay captures, phone videos and camera footage. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and is translated into over twenty languages. It is free to download from GitHub, and the developer also sells it in the Mac App Store and Microsoft Store to cover signing and publishing costs and to support development. It is not a timeline editor: there are no titles, transitions, effects or colour tools, and cuts are limited to keyframes unless you enable experimental smart cutting.

Best for: Anyone trimming long recordings quickly without losing quality.
