About LyricsX
LyricsX watches the music player you are using on a Mac, such as Apple Music, Spotify or other supported players, and automatically searches several online lyrics sources for time-synced lyrics to the current song. The lines scroll in time on the desktop as an overlay or in the menu bar, and you can change the font, colour and position. If the timing is off you can shift it from the status menu, double-click a line to jump to that part of the song, and drag lyrics files in or out. It can convert between Traditional and Simplified Chinese, which reflects its large Chinese-speaking user base. LyricsX is free and MPL-licensed, installable from the Mac App Store, Homebrew or GitHub. It is macOS only; an iOS version and a Linux command-line tool were described as early development.
Best for: Mac users who want karaoke-style synced lyrics on screen for whatever player they use.
