About Musixmatch
Musixmatch is one of the largest lyrics catalogues, and its data powers the lyrics shown in several streaming apps. The consumer app shows time-synced lyrics for the song playing, including from other streaming apps on your phone, with translations and a karaoke-style view, and it runs on iPhone, Android, smartwatches and in-car screens through CarPlay and Android Auto. Lyrics are added and checked by a large volunteer community of contributors and curators, and artists can manage their own lyrics through Musixmatch Pro. The basic app is free with ads, and a paid subscription adds features such as offline lyrics and removing ads. The company was founded in Bologna, Italy, in 2010. It suits listeners who want lyrics across devices; people with only local files may prefer a downloader that saves LRC files.
Best for: Streaming listeners who want synced lyrics and translations on phone, watch and car screens.
