About Mixcraft

Mixcraft is a digital audio workstation for Windows from Acoustica, aimed at home musicians, podcasters and educators who want something easier to learn than the big studio DAWs. It covers multitrack audio and MIDI recording, a loop library, virtual instruments and effects, a clip launcher-style performance panel, video soundtrack editing and a mixer, and has a reputation for being friendly to beginners while still capable enough for serious projects. It comes in two editions, Recording Studio and the more fully featured Pro Studio, each sold as a perpetual licence at a relatively low price, with a rent-to-own option that ends in ownership. There is a free trial and a Mixcraft Remote app for iOS and Android. It is Windows only, which rules it out for Mac users, and its user community and third-party tutorial base are smaller than those of Ableton, FL Studio or REAPER. It runs on 64-bit Windows 7 through Windows 11.

Best for: Windows home musicians and educators who want an easy, inexpensive DAW.
