About NoMachine
NoMachine is a remote desktop product built on its NX protocol, which is efficient enough for video and multimedia over ordinary connections. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, including ARM boards like Raspberry Pi, with mobile clients for iOS and Android. It is especially well regarded on Linux, where it can serve both physical displays and virtual sessions, and it can also connect to machines over plain SSH. Enterprise editions add terminal servers, cloud servers with load balancing and gateways. Pricing changed with version 10: the long-standing free edition for non-commercial use was discontinued and replaced by NoMachine Personal Edition, a low-cost paid licence that includes support. A Network subscription lets you reach machines over the internet without opening ports, with a 7-day trial. Users who relied on the free version will need to pay or look elsewhere.
Best for: Linux and mixed-OS users who want fast, multimedia-friendly remote desktops.
