About ConnectWise ScreenConnect

ScreenConnect, owned by ConnectWise, is a remote support tool widely used by managed service providers and internal help desks. Technicians start attended sessions from a browser-based console or keep unattended agents on client machines, and the higher tiers add a Backstage mode for working in the background without disturbing the user, a remote command line, Wake-on-LAN, session recording, video auditing and diagnostics. It is licensed per concurrent technician rather than per device, which suits shops supporting many endpoints with a small team. Cloud plans run from a single-session entry tier up through Standard and Premium, and a self-hosted on-premises edition is still sold for organisations that want to run the server themselves. Agents support Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile devices. Its power and popularity also make it a target: self-hosted servers need prompt patching, and attackers have abused stolen instances.

Best for: Managed service providers and help desks supporting many endpoints with a few technicians.
