About Otty

Otty is a terminal emulator from the small studio appmakes.io that tries to sit between a classic terminal and a full agent development environment. The terminal part covers what people expect from a modern app: GPU rendering, ligatures, true colour, inline images, clickable paths, tabs, splits and session recovery after a restart. On top of that it adds a command palette, inline autocomplete, saved recipes and layouts, and a set of features aimed at people who run coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex in the terminal: watching several agent tasks side by side, browsing session history, forking a chat, queuing prompts and piping output into an agent. Everything that runs locally is free with no account. The company says future server-backed features like sync, remote control and hosted AI may become paid. Otty is closed source. It ships for macOS, with Windows in beta; Linux and iOS versions are only on a waitlist so far.

Best for: Developers who run AI coding agents in the terminal and want task tracking without a full IDE.
