About Proton Meet

Proton Meet is a video conferencing service from Proton, the Swiss company behind Proton Mail, VPN, Drive and Pass. Its main selling point is privacy: audio, video and chat are end-to-end encrypted using the Messaging Layer Security standard, so Proton says even it cannot access calls, and it promises no tracking and no use of conversations to train AI models. You can host meetings and invite guests by link even if they don't have a Proton account, schedule calls through Proton Calendar, and join from the web or from apps for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux. Meetings include background blur, noise reduction, guest removal and meeting locks. With a free Proton account you can host one-hour calls with up to 50 participants; paid Proton plans, including business plans, allow calls of up to 24 hours with up to 250 participants. It suits privacy-conscious individuals and businesses, especially those already using Proton's other services.

Best for: Privacy-conscious people and businesses, especially existing Proton users.
