About PrusaSlicer
PrusaSlicer is the slicer developed by Prusa Research, maker of the MK4 and Core One printers. It began as a fork of the open-source Slic3r and has itself become the base for other slicers, including Bambu Studio and, through it, OrcaSlicer. It offers Simple, Advanced and Expert modes so beginners and experienced users can share one app, and includes organic supports, model cutting with alignment pins, variable layer height, and multi-material and multi-extruder printing. It ships profiles for Prusa machines and many third-party printers. It's free with no account required, licensed under AGPL-3.0, and slicing happens entirely on your own computer, which suits offline or secure environments. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and Prusa offers a separate EasyPrint service for slicing from phones. Its interface is plainer than Bambu Studio's, and remote printing works best with Prusa's own printers and Prusa Connect.
Best for: Prusa owners and anyone who wants a mature, free slicer that works fully offline.
